CREATION OF THE NEW PADIGLIONE ZERO AND THE TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
Following the demolition of Pavilions 7 and 8, the construction of the new Technology Centre and Padiglione Zero will begin. The levels of the latter will be arranged according to function, with community functional relationships and operations or the more complex ones being concentrated in the lower part of the building, while the areas with more replicable and less impactful processes from a plant perspective will be located on the upper floors. Each level will be characterised by its own identity that will integrate the different functions efficiently and, at the same time, facilitate orientation.
The new building will consist of eleven levels in total of which: two underground floors; three floors above ground intended for diagnosis and intensive care activities; the plant floor serving the entire building; four ward levels; the roof and the helipad area.
The new Technology Centre, located within the area currently occupied by the refrigeration units serving the air conditioning system of Pavilion 12, will be set out on three levels housing respectively: heat generation in the basement, the electrical room on the ground floor; air-cooled machinery on the roof.
Following the construction of the New Technology Centre, it will be possible to decommission the current thermal power plant the premises of which will be used as a new generator room.
