DEMOLITION OF PAVILIONS 7 AND 8

During all phases of the works, the normal development and functioning of all existing activities within the Institute will continue, while respecting children, families and all staff.

The deconstruction and controlled demolition of the pavilions will take place using particular machinery which, using large pliers and/or hydraulic shears, will progressively shred the buildings to be dismantled.

The demolition of the pavilions will be preceded by the removal of the internal elements and external windows of the buildings. Following checks and inspections, the resulting materials will be separated in order to start the recovery of the materials that can be reintroduced into the production cycle.

For these processes, particular precautions will be taken to minimise the propagation of dust, noise and vibrations.

In particular, the areas where work will take place will be appropriately partitioned (with the creation of specific vertical plasterboard partitions with hermetically sealed joints), thus reducing the risk of noise and dust propagation in neighbouring working hospital environments.

Mobile spray cannons will be used on site to limit the spread of dust. Furthermore, vehicles will be washed regularly and manholes protected to prevent dust from infiltrating into sewage outlets.
